Two UK-based researchers win EU research award

  Professors Lucie Cluver and Tobias Hauser, respectively from the University of Oxford and University College London were awarded the 2024 ERC  Public Engagement with Research Awards  on 24 October. The prize recognises European Research Council (ERC) grantees who successfully engage audiences outside their academic domain. This is the third edition of this award since the first one launched in 2019. Lucie Cluver was awarded “for initiating and fostering global collaboration to provide research -based parenting support in crises, improving the well-being of millions worldwide”. Tobias Hauser from University College London and Tubingen University was awarded “for co-creating an accessible, interactive resource on obsessive-compulsive disorders, bridging neuroscience and community needs for real impact.” Each winner will receive €10 000. ICRG awards first Christine Reilly Award to UNLV’s Dr. Kasra Ghaharian

  The International Center for Responsible Gaming Friday announced that Dr. Kasra Ghaharian, director of research  at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas has been awarded the first Christine Reilly Grant Award . Established in honor of Christine Reilly’s legacy of leadership and innovation in gambling research with ICRG, the award recognizes outstanding scientific excellence and research potential in gambling disorder and responsible gaming. Winners of Kairali Research Awards 2022-23 announced

  THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has announced winners of the prestigious Kairali Research Awards 2022-23 in four categories. The Higher Education Minster R Bindu made the announcement here on Thursday in the presence of Rajan Gurukkal, vice-chairman, Kerala State Higher Education Council and Rajan Varughese, the council’s member secretary, Prof Channath Achuthan Unni (arts and humanities), Prof P P Divakaran ( science ) and Prof K P Mohanan (social science) have been chosen for the topmost honour ‘Kairali Global Lifetime Achievement Prize for Researchers ’. The award for lifelong contributions to research by Keralite researchers , carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each and a citation. Prof Achuthanunni is a polyglot, Malayalam language writer and translator. While Prof P P Divakaran is an eminent scientist specialising in theoretical physics.
