Is Black Walnut Safe? Serbia’s Soil & Extracts Under the Radiological Lens!
Black walnut (Juglans nigra) is highly valued for its medicinal, nutritional, and industrial uses — but how safe is it in regions with potential soil contamination? This research explores the radiological safety of black walnut trees and their extracts grown in Serbia. By analyzing soil composition, radionuclide concentration, and plant absorption behavior, the study provides an evidence-based evaluation of environmental risks and human health implications. Findings aim to support safe consumption standards, sustainable harvesting practices, and scientific awareness regarding radiation in botanical products. This work contributes to global food safety, environmental monitoring, and phytoremediation insights.
